the story behind the biz...

my mom taught me to sew when i was 9, and i have been sewing
ever since. i have made my own clothes, created wedding gowns
for years, designed a home collection of accessories, made
ceremonial attire, created a collection of stuffed animals,
dog clothing and accessories... and so on...

i met this wonderful couple in palo alto who rescue designer
fabric samples that would otherwise be tossed in the landfill.
once a month, these samples are sorted and distributed to many
artists who make all sorts of items with them. all sorts of ideas
started dancing in my head! ck out their story at fabmo.org

my moment i became a mom, i knew that i wasn't going to work full
time and put my son in full time day care. it hasn't been easy, but
i piece it together every month so that neither of us are away full time.

with green heart designs. i get to enjoy amazing fabrics, sew from home,
care for the environment and william and i get to "work" together. he
helps me sort out fabrics, choose beads, and loves to help me sell as he
says "my mommy makes these!".

i am in the midst of setting up an online boutique filled with fabulous
fashion and home accessories made from recycled materials and locally made
by william's mom!!

open studio this weekend

The 2010 Silicon Valley Open Studio Tour is including the studio that I design/sew from this weekend!!

Saturday 10-9pm, and Sunday 10-5pm
Location: 275 Linden Ave. Suite B. Redwood City.

Please come and ck out the amazing artists that I get to share space with!!
Painters, printers and my textile studio.

My art has expanded to include new items!!
Quilts, throws and wall hangings created from recycled, repurposed materials.
My favorite is a quilt that I am making from clothes worn birth to 4 years old for a friend's son.

Also:
Purses, totes, pouches from recycled materials.
Silk velvet scarves.
Dog sling pouches, and beds.
and more....

Please bring a friend and enjoy an hour or so of local art!!

march 28th 2010... last day at the market...

March 28th will be my last day at the farmers market for awhile!! I am having ankle surgery and won't be standing on hard concrete for hours for months... In the meantime... Please email me and I will keep you posted!
